わっぱビルヂング店の曲げわっぱ製作体験は現在、平日のみ実施をしております。定休日の火曜ならびに土曜・日曜・祝日のご予約は受付をしておりません。
恐れ入りますが、平日であっても、キットの製作状況や店舗のスケジュールにより、ご予約をお断りさせていただく場合や、内容（体験メニューなど）のご変更をお願いする場合がございます。
ご予約をお考えの場合には、実施日より2週間〜1ヶ月ほど前に、予めご相談いただけますと幸いでございます。 

曲げわっぱ製作体験The Hands-On Workshop of Magewappa

柴田慶信商店わっぱビルヂング店では、常設のワークショップスペースにて、曲げわっぱの製作体験が可能です。曲げわっぱ製作体験のメニューには、木槌(きづち)、鋸(のこぎり)、鉋(かんな)の職人道具をお使いいただき、「曲げ」加工や「樺綴じ（かばとじ）」の体験を盛り込んでおります。Visitors can have the experience of making magewappa at the studio in Shibata Yoshinobu Shoten Wappa Building Store. The hands-on workshop includes the experiences of bending Japanese cedar lumber and matching up the two ends of the lumber with a cherry bark by using different types of craftsperson’s professional tools, which are kizuchi (a wooden mallet), nokogiri (a saw) and kanna (a Japanese styled hand plane).

ご参加された皆様が職人の手わざに学び、大館曲げわっぱの「用と美」を感じていただける機会を、広く提供したく思います。We hope visitors will enjoy learning the technique of a craftsperson and feel the excellent functionality and beauty of Odate Magewappa. Visitors who wish to join in the hands-on workshop need to make a reservation by phone in advance.

曲げわっぱ製作体験に使用する道具Tools used for making magewappa

1、丸弁当箱7,700円（税込） / サイズ四寸（容量約500ml）1.Marubentobako (Round bento lunch box) 7,700 yen Size about 12cm (Contents 500ml)

柴田慶信商店の製作体験の白木丸弁当箱 — ごはんが茶碗一杯ぶんほど入る、白木のお弁当箱です。あまったご飯を入れ、おひつ代わりにもお使いいただけます。This is a bento lunch box which is made of plain wood and can contain about 150g of rice. You can also use this bento lunch box to keep leftover rice.

柴田慶信商店の製作体験で作った丸弁当箱 — ごはんが茶碗一杯ぶんほど入る、白木のお弁当箱です。あまったご飯を入れ、おひつ代わりにもお使いいただけます。This is a bento lunch box which is made of plain wood and can contain about 150g of rice. You can also use this bento lunch box to keep leftover rice.

柴田慶信商店の製作体験のパン皿 — 焼きたてのパンの蒸気を適度に吸い、さっくりとした食感をそのまま味わえます。天然杉の香りも相まって、トーストが抜群に美味しくなるパン皿です。This plate moderately absorbs the moisture from fresh bread, so you can enjoy eating crispy bread with this plate. Also, the smell of a natural Japanese cedar makes a toast on the plate more delicious.

曲げ加工Bending cedar lumber

柴田慶信商店の製作体験の曲げ加工 — 約80℃のお湯に浸けた部材を、型に合わせて曲げていきます。Bend a part of the lumber that is soaked in the hot water at about 80 degrees C.

山桜の皮を使った樺綴じMatching up the two ends of cedar lumber with a wild cherry bark

柴田慶信商店の製作体験の山桜の皮を使った樺綴じ — 曲げ加工をしたつなぎ目にあたる部分を、山桜の木の皮（樺）で綴じます。Match up the joints of the bent lumber with a wild cherry bark.

木槌での底入れFitting a base plate with a wooden mallet

柴田慶信商店の製作体験のお申し込み — 曲げ加工、接着の済んだ部材に、木目を見ながら底板をはめます。この時、木槌でたたきながら入れることで、本体と底にすき間が出来ないようにします。Fit a base plate around the bent and jointed lumber. At the same time, check the wood grains to fit it in an appropriate location. Use a wooden mallet not to make any gaps between the base plate and the round lumber in this process.

手仕上げFiling the surface

柴田慶信商店の製作体験の手仕上げ — 数種類の紙やすりを使い、表面を滑らかに仕上げます。Smooth the surface with several kinds of sandpaper.

曲げわっぱ製作体験の申し込み方法お電話のみの受付How to apply for the Magewappa production experience

1回のワークショップはメニューを限ることなく、丸弁当箱、パン皿どちらのメニューもお選びいただけます。9名以上のお客様におかれましては、皆様同じメニューでのお申し込みをお願いしております。ご希望をお申し込み時にお伝えください。Each visitor is allowed to try either of two options (Marubentobako and a round bread plate) at one time. All members in the group of more than nine people are required to choose the same option. Please tell us which option you wish to try when you make a reservation.

Q：予約可能な人数や、申し込みの締め切りを教えてください。How many people can take the workshop at one time/in a day? When is the application deadline?

A：体験キットや道具の数量の都合上、製作体験の受け入れは、一回に8名様までとさせていただいております。先着順に受付し、定員に達し次第締め切らせていただきますことをご了承ください。開催1ヶ月〜2週間前までのご予約をお願いしております。Due to the preparation process of a magewappa kit and the limited number of tools, up to eight people can try the workshop at one time. The registration will be closed once all the places are taken. Please make sure to make a reservation one month to two weeks before your visit.

Q：グループでの予約をしたいのですが、全員同じ体験メニューを選ばなければいけないのでしょうか？Do all people of a group have to choose the same option of the workshop?

A: 一回のワークショップではメニューを限ることなく、丸弁当箱、パン皿どちらのメニューもお選びいただけます。体験をご希望されるメニューを、お申し込み時にお伝えください。ただし7名様以上のグループは、メニューのご統一をお願いいたします。Each person can try different options, either making Marubentobako or making a round bread plate. Please tell us which option you wish to try when you make a reservation. However, please choose one of the two options if your group consists of more than seven people.

Q：子どもの参加は可能ですか？Can a child participate in the workshop?

A：使用する道具などを考慮し、保護者同伴の小学校低学年のお子様から、お申し込みを受け付けております。ご希望に添えない場合もあるかと思いますが、何卒ご了承をお願いいたします。Considering the types of the tools, we accept children of seven years and over accompanied by any guardian. Please understand that we may not be able to meet your request.

Q：体験料金の支払いについて教えて下さい。また、団体での予約に、割引はありますか？Please tell me about the payment. Are there any discount coupons for a group reservation?

A：お申し込みのお客様には、当日店頭でのお支払いをお願いいたします。大変恐れ入りますが、団体様に関しましても、お一人様の体験料金を定価にていただいております。10名様以上での参加のご希望や、メニューについてのご注文など、各種ご相談は個別に承ります。お早めのご連絡をお願い致します。Please make a payment for the participation fee at our store. We apologize that we do not have any discount coupons for a group. Each person of a group is asked to make a payment for the participation fee at fixed price. Please let us know if you’d like to join in the workshop as a group of more than ten people, to ask about more details of the options, and so on. Please contact us in advance.

Q：キャンセルは可能ですか？ Is it possible to cancel my reservation?

A：お申し込みのキャンセルは、極力お控えください。皆様が当日お越し下さることを、社員一同心よりお待ちしております。尚、キャンセルのご連絡はご予約いただいた実施日の前々日までにお願いをいたします。キャンセル料は以下の通り頂戴致します。Please refrain from canceling your reservation as much as possible. All of the staff at Shibata Yoshinobu Shoten are looking forward to your visit.

Q：必要な持ち物はありますか？Are there anything that I need to bring for the workshop?: A：当日皆様にお持ちいただくものはございませんが、エプロンの着用や作業に適したご服装をお願いいたします。Nothing particular. Please note that you wear clothes suitable for making crafts. Bringing an apron will be helpful.
